THE LONE RANGER – ENGLISH MOVIE REVIEW (2013)

Underrated Adventure!!!

PRODUCER: Jerry Bruckheimer, Gore Verbinski
DIRECTOR: Gore Verbinski
STAR CAST: Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, William fichtner, Tom Wilkinson
MUSIC: Hans Zimmer

The Lone Ranger is a Hollywood movie released in 2013, directed by Gore Vebrinski  who earlier directed much famous The Pirates of the Caribbean series and animated movie Rango. His teaming up with Johny Depp always produced good movies and he proves it again with this action adventure movie.

The lone Ranger is based on the radio series of the same name and it is produced by the veteran Jerry bruckemier and director himself. Movie opened to a very negative reviews from almost all the critics and it is considered as commercial failure in the box office.

The movie deals with the conflicts between outlaws , the native Indians and thecorporates. It also deals with the emotional connection and sacrifice. Screen play treated humor and drama and some breath taking action sequences. The first half of the movie deals with plot development and some humor in it and towards climax filled with action.

Johny Depp steals the show and Carried the movie on his shoulder, other star cast did well. Top notch Cinematography made this movie a good one time watch. There was splendid graphics and special Kudos to the production department. They recreated the sets of 19th century United States. Back ground score by Hans Zimmer was outstanding.

WORLD WAR Z - ENGLISH MOVIE REVIEW (2013)

BREATH TAKING EXPERIENCE!!!

PRODUCER: BRAD PITT, DEDE GARDNER, JEREMY, IAN BRYCE
DIRECTOR: MARK FORSTER
STAR CAST: BRAD PITT, MIREILLE, JAMES BADGE, MATHEW FOX
MUSIC: MARCO BELTRAMI

World war Z is directed by talented Mark Forster who earlier directed Quantum of solace. This time he delivers big time. This is a Zombie invasion movie, but not a regular cliched Zombie movie. The perfect use of technology with a interesting screenplay can do wonders and Mark Forster proves that with this movie

.
You will be in edge of your seat from the beginning. And the sequences of zombies attacking moves with super speed. There are many sequences which will amaze you, the Israel episode, the attack inside the airplane and the climax was awesome.

Superb performance from lead cast Brad pitt, Mirellie, James badge and Mathew fox. And the actor who performed as infected zombies. Special kudos to the camera man and the special effect department. The back ground score was apt.

Producers were planning sequels to the film and yes we would love to see more of zombies like this. If you missed this in theaters then grab a DVD and enjoy!!!

PHILIPS AND THE MONKEY PEN MALAYALAM MOVIE REVIEW (2013)

NEVER MISS THIS MAGICAL EXPERIENCE!!!

PRODUCER: SANDRA THOMAS, VIJAY BABU
DIRECTOR: ROJIN THOMAS, SHANIL MUHAMMED
STAR CAST: MASTER SANOOP, JAYASURYA, REMYA NAMBISAN, JOY THOMAS, VIJAY BABU

MUSIC: RAHUL SUBRAMANIAM

First of all it is the best movie of the year hands down and only one sentence is enough describe “must watch”. Children’s movie is rare genre attempted by movie makers of India and its true of Malayalam movie makers also. Only sensitive movie makers can make movie of this genre. And producer with good taste in cinema and devoid of greed for money will come forward to produce this kind of cinema.

There are N numbers of movies releases in the name of children movie which have loads of graphics and visual effects without any proper story or soul in it. But Monkey pen stands out for its simple story line and the brilliant execution.

Story revolves around Ryan Philips (Sanoop) who is very lazy to study and to do home work and how he gets a magical monkey pen and how his life changes after that. Story seems simple but narration was fresh and it keeps you interested, some sconces with touch your soul. The message conveyed to the audience by covering it in humor unlike other movies which preach and push it down through your throat. The movie travels with a constant speed.

A big kudos to the camera work BY Neil D’cunha , it was outstanding. Music and BGM was very good. En kanimalare song will make you hum even after the movie. The performance from Kids was superb. Especially the lead character played by Sanoop. All the star cast played their part well. Jayasurya, Remya nambisan, Vjaya babu, Joy Mathew played their part perfectly. Innocent appears in an extended cameo.

Verdict: Don’t miss this gem, Watch and promote good cinema which is very rare nowadays.

THIRA (2013) MALAYALAM MOVIE REVIEW

Thrilling Thira!!!

PRODUCER: MANOJ MENON
DIRECTOR: VINEETH SRINIVASAN
STAR CAST: SHOBHANA, DHYAN, DEEPAK
MUSIC: SHAAN RAHMAN

“Thira” is the third directorial venture of Vineeth Srinivasan, after Malarvadi arts club and Thattathin marayathu. This time he selected a racy thriller plot in Thira, and the crew already announced that Thira is a first installment of a trilogy. Vineeths earlier movies may not be a grand success still all the movies got recognition and he shown drastic improvement each time. Thira is not a exception and a huge improvement is visible.

The film is a thriller, plot is based on kidnapping ang human trafficking and the storyline is hugely inspired by some of international films. Run time of movie is less than 2 hrs and movie travels very fastly unfolding the mystery.

Shobhana delivers solid power packed performance and carries the movie on her shoulders. Dhyan in his debut movie tried his best but the role demanded more. Other star cast relatively new comers and some of them needs improvement.

Films main highlight was the camera work by Jomon. But he over didshaky camera trick, which sometimes irritate the eye. Close up shots were brilliant. BGM was very noisy, they failed to generatet a good theme music which is very essential for a franchise movie.
The movie ended with a lead for a sequel let’s wait what Vineeth offers in the second installment.
