Red wine suppose to be a suspense thriller, generated
curiosity among movie lovers since it also had Mohanlal in the lead cast. But mohanlal’s
role limited to a extended cameo as investigating officer.
Movie revolves around a murder of young wanna be politician
who is also a drama artist. Here the murderer is known to viewer in the beginning
itself but the motive and the conspirators of the murder revealed in the
climax.
A simple story told in a non linear pattern with help of the
flashback was a good attempt. For those who watch Hollywood thrillers it may
not be a new thing. Still movie is watchable without any boredom.
The camera work was outstanding, and back ground score and
songs by bijibal was the back bone of the movie, direction was good and needed
improvement in the scripting.
The surprise element was missing which was the USP of
suspense thrillers. Fahad and Asif ali did their part well. And as usual Mohanlal’s
presence was a big plus for the movie.
