Rakesh om prakash mehra is one of the leading movie maker of
bollywood recent era, since his Rang De Basanthi movie which grabbed attention
of critics as well as the audience equally and fetched many awards. Following RDB
he made delhi 6 with abhishek bachchan which did not run well at the BO. This time
he choosen the biography of the legend qathlete of india milkha singh.
Hindi film industry seldom produces movie on sports persons,
some of the movies based on sports gained much popularity like LAGAAN and CHAK
DE INDIA, some other movies flopped though.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is realistic but at times it becomes
melodramatic and some of elements of typical bollywood is forcefully added here
and there. And movie’s run time is above 3 hrs. it’s a slow moving movie and
narrative moves flashback and present
situations.
Flashback of the younger milkhaa was good. Movie dragged in the
middle portion (the love track). And the thrill factor at the climax was
missing.
Full praise to farhaan, hard work can be seen and delivers
his best performance in his career. Other suppoting cast did their part well. Sonam
kapoor did not had much to do.
Cinematography was top notch, BGM was repetitive at times
and it was apt. on the whole technically it was good.

Verdict : Watchable but not great as Milkha himself.
